NASHVILLE, TN. , On December 30, 2010
We finally left Monday, December 27. We had everything ready the night before, even attached self behind the motorhome. We were left to pick up the liquid and the food we had kept in the apartment to avoid freezing. The temperature was-18C when I left at 6:00 to start the generator and heating.

| Our roadmap to Yuma, Arizona |
The move from Montreal to Carlisle, Pennsylvania went as planned. Initially, the sky was cloudy, but the roadway was dry. The sun came out about an hour later it started snowing lightly in Syracuse, such as weather had predicted. It snowed just enough to soak the floor and cover the vehicles of salt. The jet of windshield washer fluid was frozen on my side and the rubber wiper on the side of Marielle starting to peel off. After a while we stopped at a service area and we pulled the snow windshield for cleaning. I did do a complete audit of the motorhome to make sure it would be ready for the trip, but I had not thought of those two small details. We learn ...
We arrived at Carlisle, Pennsylvania 5: 30pm after traveling a distance of 503 miles (810Km). There were several RVs in the parking lot of the Flying J to our arrival. After parking the motorhome for the night we went for a nice dinner at a restaurant. In return, we washed the washcloth because there was no water in the tank. The new propane heater that I bought before leaving is very effective but consumes small propane tanks fast enough. However, it consumes no battery power, which is a distinct advantage when there is no electricity. Another compromise.
We left at 8: 30 am the next morning after refueling at 2.90 $ U.S. per gallon. The first thing that struck us was the complete lack of snow. It was less obvious when we arrived at dark the night before. We reviewed some snow across the mountains in Virginia, but it was sunny all day and the temperature rose to 45 ⁰ F (8 ⁰ C), a marked improvement over the day earlier. We traveled another 500 miles and we stopped at a truck center TA (Travel America) in Knoxville, Tennessee. We were the only recreational vehicle parked in a sea of trucks. After confirming with the reception that we were welcome, as we have professional drivers and we rented a shower for $ 10.00. Everything is provided and places are clean copy. We can not be said of most campgrounds.
The parts department is open 24/24 but had no wiper that was. The clerk suggested that I stop at the RV dealership located at the next exit. We then went to eat at their restaurant that offered good food at good prices. The food was good and the service was courteous and quick. Once dinner ended, we stopped at their general store to buy some effects we needed. 're All I'm starting to appreciate these centers trucks. They are clean and well organized and cost nothing. I heard that the truck engines turned all night and were very noisy, but that does not stop us sleep well.
The next day we were at the RV dealership (Buddy Greg) at 9 o'clock. They had no wiper store but sent a commission from the local NAPA store. 30 minutes later he returned with two new windshield wipers. Now that's service. I took 5 minutes to replace the one on the side of Marielle and we hit the road. The warmer weather has solved the problem with the nozzle on my side.

The landscape is very beautiful between Knoxville and Nashville and the road is beautiful. It rained almost throughout but it was my business because it has to rinse the underside of vehicles which were covered with salt. We arrived at Two Rivers Campground, about the hour of noon. As it was raining and I have a bad flu that siphons my energy, we decided to rest the remainder of the day. At 7:00 pm I was in bed and a few minutes later I was asleep.
Friday morning it is sunny and 55 ⁰ F to 10 o'clock in the morning. People are walking in jersey on the field. Marielle went to wash the laundry and I want to work on the blog. My flu goes away quietly. Lulu basking in the sun on the dashboard of the motorhome. She did not allowed to leave because we are too near the road. We went to eat at Cracker Barrel for lunch. We like this chain of restaurants that serve great breakfasts all day. Our waiting 45 min. for our table demonstrates the popularity of the place. |
